Unflattering epithet related to Borat not Cohen - Ambassador Idrisov

London. October 27. Kazakhstan Today - The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Great Britain Yerlan Idrisov specified that his epithet "a pig of a man" published in Guardian does not regard Sacha Baron Cohen, but his character Borat, the agency reports.

"At a more close reading of my recent article in Guardian you will find out that having highly estimated comedy talent of Mr. Cohen I did not call "a pig of a man" Sacha Baron Cohen, but Borat - the wild scenic character created by Mr. Cohen," the diplomat stated in the letter addressed to the agency. "I believe that Mr. Cohen does not consider Borat an angel as well," the diplomat added.

"The most striking Borat features: rudeness, ignorance, racism and chauvinism. He is a pig of a man: stupid, belligerent, charmless," the Ambassador said.

In the same article, Kazakhstan diplomat presupposed why the popular showman chose Kazakhstan "to express his comedy talent". "We are an easy target. Borat could have been made the citizen of a country with a truly awful record on human rights - say Afghanistan in the days of the Taliban. But it would have been risky for Baron Cohen," the diplomat considers.

In the letter to the agency, Y. Idrisov emphasized that huge number of British friends support Kazakhstan and treat with respect its citizens in this situation. "Some of our British friends who know Kazakhstan tell me that the misrepresentation is on such an absurd level that I should not be concerned," the Ambassador said.

In the letter the diplomat also noted that it is not a problem of vital importance. "Obviously, you and I have more important work to care about, except for thinking of Borat," the letter addressed to the agency says.
