Coal mining in Kazakhstan to increase by more than 30 %

Coal mining in Kazakhstan by 2014 is planned to be increased by more than 30 % up to 123 million tons. The expert of Department of Development of Electric Power Industry of the Department of Electric Power Industry and Coal Industry of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, Kanat Gapbasov, informed on Tuesday, the agency reports.

Astana. November 24. Kazakhstan Today - Coal mining in Kazakhstan by 2014 is planned to be increased by more than 30 % up to 123 million tons. The expert of Department of Development of Electric Power Industry of the Department of Electric Power Industry and Coal Industry of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, Kanat Gapbasov, informed on Tuesday, the agency reports.

"The program of development of the coal industry has been accepted. Extraction of coal will be increased from 94.9 million tons in 2009 up to 123 million tons in 2014 to meet the demand in coal of the country. Coal extraction will grow during this period by 30.4 %. Coal export is planned at the level of 32 million tons," K. Gapbasov informed.
