"During the last two months of 2008 consumption has decreased in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year and now energy sources have sufficient capacity reserves taking into account reduction of current consumption by the large enterprises of the Republic," S. Mynbaev said.

As of January, 5th, there were 3 power units of Ekibastuz power station-1, 3 power units of Zhambyl power station and 1 power unit of the state district power station in the reserve in Aksu.

"According to the operative data, electric power production for 2008 in comparison with 2007 has grown by 4.8 % and has made 80.5 billion kW/h, consumption - 80.6 billion kW/h that is more by 5.5 % of the last year's period," he said.
