European Investment Bank to sign agreement with Economy Ministry of Kazakhstan

In the near future, the European Investment Bank plans to sign the agreement with the Ministry of Economy and Budgetary Planning of Kazakhstan for financing of investment projects in Kazakhstan. Director of General-Directorate of the European Commission for External Relations, Gunnar Wiegand, informed at the briefing on Wednesday in the representation of the European Commission in Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

Astana. June 18. Kazakhstan Today - In the near future, the European Investment Bank plans to sign the agreement with the Ministry of Economy and Budgetary Planning of Kazakhstan for financing of investment projects in Kazakhstan. Director of General-Directorate of the European Commission for External Relations, Gunnar Wiegand, informed at the briefing on Wednesday in the representation of the European Commission in Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

According to G. Wiegand, "during two-day meetings with our partners we discussed signing of the agreement with the European Investment Bank, the leading investment bank in Europe, in regards to possibility of financing of investment projects in Kazakhstan in three sectors: environment, transport, and energy."

"The process has already started. Probably, in the near future, the agreement will be signed," the EU representative noted.

According to G. Wiegand, the Ministry of Economy and Budgetary Planning of Kazakhstan is discussing the issue of signing of the agreement.

"The European Commission assists so that both parties could meet and come to an agreement."
