Foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in January - May decreased by more than 40 %

Foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in January - May, 2009 has been $24.7 billion and in comparison with the similar period of 2008 has decreased by 40.7 %, the monthly report of Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan states.

Astana. August 3. Kazakhstan Today - Foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in January - May, 2009 has been $24.7 billion and in comparison with the similar period of 2008 has decreased by 40.7 %, the monthly report of Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan states.

"Foreign trade turnover in January - May, 2009 amounted to $24.7 billion (in comparison with January - May, 2008 - decrease by 40.7 %), including export - $13.9 billion (by 50.4 % less) and import - $10.8 billion (by 20.8 % less). The considerable share in commodity structure of export accounts for mineral products (in January - May, 2009 - 71.5 %), import - cars, equipment, vehicles, devices (35.4 %), non-precious materials and products from them (26.9 %)."

Export share with some countries in January - May, 2009 amounted to: with Italy - 15 %, China - 12.9 %, Switzerland - 12.4 %, Russia - 8.9 %, France - 8.3 %, the Netherlands - 4.6 %, Great Britain - 3.2 %, Ukraine - 3.2 %, Iran - 3 %, and Israel - 2.9 %.

Import share with Russia amounted to 30 %, China - 15.9 %, Ukraine - 9 %, Germany - 7.7 %, the USA - 6 %, Italy - 3.4 %, Great Britain - 2.5 %, Japan - 2.4 %, Turkey - 1.7 %, and France - 1.6 %.
