G-8 countries declared necessity to increase efficiency of power supply systems and use of new technologies

Observing the record increase of prices for oil, the countries with developed economies and consumers of fuel declared of necessity of investments to increase efficiency of power systems and application of new technologies to manage an increasing demand for oil on Sunday, the agency reports referring to Associated Press (AP).

Kazakhstan Today - Observing record increase of prices for oil, the countries with developed economies and consumers of fuel declared of necessity of investments to increase efficiency of power systems and application of new technologies to manage an increasing demand for oil on Sunday, the agency reports referring to Associated Press (AP).

The Ministers of Energy of G-8 countries along with China, India and South Korea convince countries-manufacturers in the joint statement to increase production of oil, which since 2005 has totaled about 85 million barrels a day, and call for cooperation of buyers and manufacturers. According to the AP information, "these 11 countries make 65 % of world demand for oil."

The experts state that the majority of manufacturers has little opportunities to increase oil extraction. Saudi Arabia can be an exception, which produces approximately 9.4 million barrels a day and has an opportunity to increase extraction by approximately up to 2 million barrels a day, but it does not do it.

OPEC President Shakib Helil declared that the cartel will not make any decision on level of oil extraction until the meeting in Vienna on September 9.
