Gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan decreased by 4.5 % in August

The international reserves of Kazakhstan in current prices, including money of the National fund (by preliminary data - $18 356.1 million), as of August 29, decreased by 4.5 % and made $39 611.6 million, the press service of the National Bank informed.

Almaty. September 7. Kazakhstan Today - The international reserves of Kazakhstan in current prices, including money of the National fund (by preliminary data - $18 356.1 million), as of August 29, decreased by 4.5 % and made $39 611.6 million, the press service of the National Bank informed.

According to the message widespread on Friday, growth of net internal actives of the National Bank in August, 2007 caused expansion of monetary base by 3.2 % (or by 54.7 billion KZT). " In current prices net international reserves of the National Bank decreased by 9.2 % (or by $2163.7 million).

According to the State Bank, sale of currency in the internal currency market and carrying out of operations of servicing of external debt of the Ministry of Finance, despite of income receipt of currency in the government accounts and increase in balance on the correspondent accounts of the banks of the second level in foreign currency in the National Bank, (hard currency) by $2159.4 million led to decrease in net foreign currency reserves.

"Actives in gold decreased by $4.3 million as a result of decrease of its price in the world markets by 0.3 %," the text underlines.
