Half a trillion-tenge investment was directed to transport infrastructure of Kazakhstan

That is by 43% higher than a year ago.
Over 5 months, the transport and logistics sector of the country has received 425.9 billion tenge of capital investment, that is by 43.4% higher that a year ago, ranking.kz reports.

The two capitals and key oil regions accounted for two thirds of capital investment – 67.6% against 59% a year ago. All four leading regions have a considerable increase year-by-year.

The Republic of Kazakhstan conducts work on may transport and logistics projects. So, for instance, according to mid.gov.kz, Minister for Investments and Development Zhenis Kassymbek told that 16.2 billion tenge was envisaged to implement the LRT project in 2018-19. As of today, China Railway No.2 Engineering Group Co., Ltd conducts measures to install pile foundations and supports of the ramp. The LRT project in Astana will be implemented in 2021. It was said earlier that the light rail transit would be launched by 2019, and it was planned that the first lane would be launched by the time of the EXPO.

The construction of a lane of the LRT starts in Almaty as well. The project will cost about 130 billion tenge and will be implemented based on the principles of public private partnership (PPP). In addition, Almaty gave a start to the construction of the Big Almaty Ring Road. Within the project, it is planned to erect 21 bridges, 19 overpasses, 8 forks, a payment system and engineering networks systems.

The implementation of the first PPP project in digitalization in transport has started – Introduction and adaptation of a paper-free workflow information system in freight air transportations ‘e-freight’. According to mid.gov.kz, the document was signed by Minister Zhenis Kassymbek and Director General of the joint enterprise of Transinfotech LLP Malik Berdigaliyev. The uniqueness of the project is a full implementation at the expense of private investment, expenditure of budgetary funds is not provided. The cost is 3.3 billion tenge. The project will be introduced in all international airports of Kazakhstan.

Following the 1st quarter of the present year, gross added value of the transport and logistics sector is 1 trillion tenge against 0.9 trillion tenge in the same period of the previous ago.

Following 2017, gross added value of transport and warehousing reached 4.3 trillion tenge against 3.9 trillion tenge a year ago, that is 8.3% of GDP of the country.

In the background of the increase of gross value added of the transport sector of 11.5% over the year, volume index taking into account the inflation was 104.6% following the 1st quarter.

For comparison, in whole volume index of GDP by production has reached 104.1% in January-March of the present year.

Following 2017, volume index of gross added volume in the transport sector equaled 104.8%, and volume index of GDP – 104%.
