Inflation made 0.3% in June, 2006

Almaty. July 3. Kazakhstan Today - In Kazakhstan in June, 2006 inflation made 0.3%, from the beginning of the year – 4.8%, Kazakh Statistics Agency said on Monday.

Increase of the prices last month was caused by rise in price of paid services. In June price for housing-and-municipal services grew by 1.2%. Tariffs for electric power increased by 2%, central heating – by 1.5%, hot water supply - by 0.9%, water drain - by 0.7%, cold water supply - by 0.5%, housing maintenance – by 0.2%.

For the accounting period public health services increased by 1%, culture and recreation - by 0.4%, education - by 0.2%. Transportation fare increased by 0.7%.

Price for beef grew by 1.1%, mutton - by 0.5%, horse flesh and pork - by 0.3%, fowl - decreased by 0.5%. Fruit-and-vegetable production rose by 0.4%, carrots - by 8.4%, potato – 4.7%, beet – 3.7%. Cabbage price fell by 11.6%, onion – 5.1%. Prices for bakeries and groats increased by 0.3%, bread – by 0.2%. Dairy products fell by 1.6%, eggs – 3.3%, sugar- 1.7%

Prices for clothes and footwear grew by 0.4%, household goods - by 0.3%, personal hygiene – 0.2%. Gas became more expensive by 0.8 %.

In Kazakhstan in January - June, 2006 inflation for all goods and services in relation to the similar period of the last year made 8.7%, by June, 2005 – 8.9%.
