Kazakh Government intends to use the pre-emptive right to acquire shares of ConocoPhillips in Kashagan

The Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan has sent to ConocoPhillips a notice of intention to exercise the right of priority provided for by the law of Kazakhstan "On Subsoil and Subsoil Use" and to acquire the stake of ConocoPhillipsin the Production Sharing Agreement for the North Caspian Sea at a rate of 8.4%/

Astana. July 3. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Oil and Gas has sent to the ConocoPhillips company a notice of intention of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to use the pre-emptive right to acquire the stake of ConocoPhillips in the North-Caspian project, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"The Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan has sent to ConocoPhillips a notice of intention to exercise the right of priority provided for by the law of Kazakhstan "On Subsoil and Subsoil Use" and to acquire the stake of ConocoPhillipsin the Production Sharing Agreement for the North Caspian Sea at a rate of 8.4%," the press-service of the Ministry of Oil and Gas informed.

According to the agency, the purchaser of the stakes of ConocoPhillips in the North-Caspian projection behalf of the state will be KazMunaiGas NCJSC.

KazMunaiGas NC JSCstarts filling in all the necessary procedures, specified in the press-service.
