Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan strengthen trade and economic cooperation

Experts believe that the economy of the two countries is in need of active integration. Today, the two states have substantial economic potential, common backgrounds and old friendly relations.

Almaty. September 11. Kazakhstan Today - Experts believe that economic activity will increase after negotiations between Nursultan Nazarbayev and Islam Karimov. Trade and economic partnerships are among the priorities, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"The turnover is increasing but we haven't fully used all our existing potential, such as the cotton possibilities of Uzbekistan or transit and communication possibilities of Kazakhstan. Uzbekistan will also benefit from the construction of the Western Europe-Western China transit highway. Kazakhstan is also in need of Uzbekistan as the outlet market for products manufactured as part of the industrial and innovative development programme," Caspionet quotes Ziyabek Kabuldinov, Head of the Eurasia Research and Practice Centre.

"The trade and economic relations between the two countries have witnessed a true breakthrough. At the meeting, the presidents signed a number of agreements relating to energy, transport, water and border crossing issues. All these allow the achievement of great results for the two countries and simplify relations between the two states in the area of trade turnover," Marat Bashimov, Director of the Institute of European Law said.

Experts believe that the economy of the two countries is in need of active integration. Today, the two states have substantial economic potential, common backgrounds and old friendly relations. That is why it is necessary to use the potential and the mutually beneficial partnerships in the strategic interests of the two countries.
