Kazakhstan citizens prefer microcredits - the survey

In the market of micro crediting, Kazakhstan has over 150 micro financial organizations. KMF remains the hugest participant of the market.
Micro financial organizations are the most responsible creditors than banks, the amount of loan portfolios of micro financial organizations is significantly higher. The level of overdue debts on microcredits is only 4% against 8% on bank loans, ranking.kz reports.

In the market of micro crediting, Kazakhstan has over 150 micro financial organizations. KMF remains the hugest participant of the market – the market share of the company increased from 50.6% to 51% over the year (according to the data on the KMF loan portfolio presented by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan).

The research revealed that credits of micro financial organizations are current and of interest to Kazakhstan citizens – the volume of a micro credit portfolio (the data on the volumes of microcredits presented by the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan) for 2017 increased by 53.8% (plus 59.9 billion tenge), up to 171.1 billion tenge.

At the same time, the micro financial organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan maintain the quality of a portfolio of microcredits – the volume of risk loans for up to 30 days is only 7 billion tenge. Their share of the portfolio is only 4.1%.

The significant improvement of the quality of loans was observed in a corporate segment of the portfolio of microcredits – the share of risk credits of legal entities with up to 30 days of an overdue debt decreased over the year from 8.2% to 3.3%.

The level of overdue credits is 4.1% against 3.7% in the previous year.

For comparison, overdue in the portfolio of loans increases in the banking sector over the second year in a row: in 2016 – from 7.3% to 7.5%, in 2017 – up to 7.9%.

In the banking sector, some improvement is seen in the retailing segment, where the level of "bad" credits over the year decreased from 9.2% to 8.4%, however it is by two times higher compared to the figures of overdue of individuals of the micro financial organizations.

The level of overdue debts on corporate credits of the banks increased from 6.7% to 7.6%.
