Kazakhstan Economy Ministry estimates 4.5% GDP growth for Q1 2013

Almaty. April 11. Kazakhstan Today - According to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning, Kazakhstan's GDP growth made 4.5% in the first quarter of the current year.

"However, we have seen positive dynamics in the production of goods and services. Thus, the production of goods increased by 1.1%, the growth in the services sector was 6.5%. One of the main factors contributing to the growth of GDP is the industrial recovery, which is seen at the level of 1.9%," Deputy Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Madina Abylkassymova said in an exclusive interview for the Prime Minister's official website.

According to Abylkassymova, there is also optimism about the situation in the mining and manufacturing industries of the country, which has improved as well.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan forecasted 6% economic growth for 2013.

In 2012, real GDP growth was at the level of 5%.
