Ministry of Agriculture suggests introducing state monopoly for purchase of sturgeon

Astana. September 16. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan suggests introducing the state monopoly for purchase of sturgeon and processing and realization of caviar. The norm is contained in the bill initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, which introduces the amendments to the current fish farming legislation, the agency reports citing the press service of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service, the Senate Committee for Agriculture and Environmental Protection discussed directions of legal support to development of fish industry of Kazakhstan.

Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Marat Orazayev, reminded that public relations in this industry were regulated by the norms of the Law on Protection and Use of Fauna. He said that the existing standard-legal base does not correspond to the current situation in the fishing industry, especially in the questions of protection, reproduction and use of fish resources.

According to the press service, "the Ministry of Agriculture has initiated the bill introducing amendments to the current fish farming legislation."
