Transit of Kazakhstan, Turkmen oil and mineral oil through Azerbaijan decreased by 22% in January - May

Baku. June 25. Kazakhstan Today -Middle East Petroleum (MEP) Company in January - May, 2007 lowered transportation of the Kazakhstan and Turkmen oil and mineral oil through Azerbaijan by 21.5 % in comparison with the parameter of January - May, 2006, the company informed the agency.

According to the company, during the accounting period 1 million 217.241 thousand tons of oil and mineral oil, that is by 22.1 % less than in 2006 was transferred from Baku and Dyubed terminals.

"645.737 thousand tons of the Kazakhstan oil and 571.504 thousand tons of Turkmen mineral oil have been transferred from the terminals," the company noted.

In May, transit of the Kazakhstan and Turkmen oil and mineral oil through Azerbaijan made 282.128 thousand tons, 123.640 thousand tons of which was the Kazakhstan oil, and 158.488 thousand tons - Turkmen mineral oil.

Now the transit of the Kazakhstan and Turkmen oil and mineral oil through Azerbaijan is carried out through Duybed and Baku terminals.

In 2006, the volume of transit of the Kazakhstan and Turkmen oil and mineral oil through Azerbaijan reached 3.8 million tons. In 200, volume of transit is forecasted to reach the level of 3 - 4 million tons of oil.
