Volume of import of medical products grown by 12 % -Vi-ORTiS

Volume of import of medical products in natural expression in Kazakhstan in comparison with the similar period of the last year has decreased by 8 % and in monetary expression has grown by 12 % for 9 months 2008, the agency reports citing Vi-ORTiS agency.

Almaty. November 27. Kazakhstan Today - Volume of imported medical products in Kazakhstan in comparison with the similar period of the last year has decreased by 8 % and in monetary terms has grown by 12 % for 9 months 2008, the agency reports citing Vi-ORTiS agency.

According to Vi-ORTiS, 262 million packages of medical products for a total sum of $482 million have been imported to Kazakhstan from January 1st to September 30th, 2008.

"This situation shows growth of average prices for imported medical products and increased dependence from the state that imports large quantities of expensive anticarcinogenic and haemostatic pharmaceuticals."
