6th session of ACD Foreign Ministers Meeting opened in Seoul

Astana. June 4. Kazakhstan Today - Today the 6th session of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) opened in Seoul (South Korea), the Kazakhstan MFA official representative Yerzhan Ashikbayev informed today.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 15 Ministers for Foreign Affairs and 7 heads of the delegations of the ACD member countries confirmed their participation in the forum work. "The Kazakhstan delegation is headed by the vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev," Y. Ashikbayev specified.

"One of the main questions of the forum is cooperation of the ACD member countries in the sphere of information-communication technologies (ICT). Korea, as a host country of the meeting and ICT coordinator, will acquaint the participants with advanced achievements in this direction. Following the results of the session, the declaration on cooperation in this area will be accepted," the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

During the meeting the heads of the delegations will meet the President of Korea Rо Mu-Hen.

"During the meeting the agreement on visa-free mode for owners of diplomatic and service passports is planned to be signed.

The following 7th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers ACD will be held in 2008 in Kazakhstan.
