Chairman of Senate of Parliament, Prime Minister of France discussed questions of bilateral cooperation

The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev and the Prime Minister of France Francois Fillon discussed the questions of bilateral cooperation on Friday, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan Today - The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev and the Prime Minister of France Francois Fillon discussed the questions of bilateral cooperation on friday, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan.

"France, playing a key role in Europe and all over the world, occupies special place in foreign policy strategy of Kazakhstan.

The Intergovernmental declaration on strategic partnership signed during this visit, will become the basis for further strengthening of cooperation in all directions between Kazakhstan and France," K. Tokayev said, having emphasized the importance of the present visit of F. Fillon for further expansion of the Kazakhstan-French relations.

In the context of Kazakhstan chairmanship in OSCE, the chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan noted that development of the special program -Way to Europe will become a major landmark in development of democracy and strengthening of the role of the institutes of civil society in Kazakhstan.

The French Prime Minister handed over K. Tokayev invitation of the chairman of the Senate of France Christian Ponsele to pay official visit to France in the end of 2008.
