Commissioner for Human Rights in Kazakhstan met with his German counterpart

Almaty. September 4. Kazakhstan Today - The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Askar Shakirov met with the vice-agent of the Commissioner for Rights of the Government of Germany in the field of human rights and humanitarian assistance on Monday, Markus Lehning, Kazakhstan Today reports.

During the meeting the head of the German human rights agency learned the experience of the institution of the Ombudsman of Kazakhstan, in particular, he has shown interest in human rights issues such as the right of association, freedom of speech, human rights, the rights of citizens in the implementation of law enforcement.

A. Shakirov, presented to the foreign counterpart a Report on activities of the Commissioner for Human Rights for 2011 approved by the head of state. The ombudsman paid special attention to positive dynamic response of government agencies to its recommendations and treatment.

The sides expressed their common interest in deepening the bilateral cooperation between the human rights institutions of the two countries.
