CSTO Secretaries of Security Councils to discuss plan of measures to counteract drug trafficking

The Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will discuss on September 30 in Brest the plan of measures for combating drug trafficking. The CSTO Assistant Secretary General, Valery Semerikov, informed, the agency reports citing CSTO Secretariat press service.

Almaty. September 22. Kazakhstan Today - The Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will discuss on September 30 in Brest the plan of measures for combating drug trafficking. The CSTO Assistant Secretary General, Valery Semerikov, informed, the agency reports citing CSTO Secretariat press service.

"The chairman of Coordination Council of chairmen of competent bodies for counteraction to drug trafficking of the CSTO member states - Director of Federal Agency for Control over Drug Trafficking of the Russian Federation, Victor Ivanov, will make the report on joint efforts of the member states towards organization of struggle against narco threats and the course of realization of the plan of measures of the CSTO member states of joined counteraction to illegal circulation of narcotics, psychotropic substances and their pre-cursors for 2008 - 2011," V. Semerikov informed.

"The Secretaries of Security Councils will discuss the military-political situation in the zone of CSTO responsibility, practical measures towards formation of the OSCE coordinated information policy, and a number of other questions directed at further development of the organization."
