Kazakhstan joined the Protocol of the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Astana. September 13. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan joined the Protocol of the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

"Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan of the Mission to the United Nations' Office in Europe (Geneva), ambassador Muhtar Tleuberdi , handed over to the General Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Francis Gurry, the mechanisms for joining of Kazakhstan of the Protocol of the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks on September 8, 2010 in Geneva (Switzerland)," the press service informs.

WIPO General Director F. Gurry welcomed Kazakhstan's joining of the protocol, which is one of the major tools of protection of intellectual property and the rights of manufacturers. The officials expressed confidence in further successful development of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and WIPO.
