SCO to strengthen role in the course of stabilization of Afghanistan

"We plan to strengthen SCO role in the Afghanistan direction," M. Imanaliev said. He also informed, "The work in Afghanistan direction will be more active. SCO will be in close contact with other countries."

According to the SCO Secretary General, "He intends to participate in the Kabul Conference, which will be held in 2010 in the capital of Afghanistan." "We hope that the government of Afghanistan will invite us, and, certainly, we will offer some specific projects," M. Imanaliev informed.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was organized on June, 15, 2002. The structure of the organization includes 6 member countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan), 4 countries-observers (India, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan) and two dialogue partners (Belarus and Sri Lanka).
