World Bank President to visit Kazakhstan - MFA

"The first visit of the President of the World Bank Robert Zoellick to Kazakhstan is planned for June 17- 20, during which he will meet the leadership of the country," Y. Ashikbayev said.

"Our country has successfully cooperated with the World Bank." "Since 1992 the bank has loaned Kazakhstan more than $2 billion," he explained.

"The World Bank supports modernization of Kazakhstan economy, realizes projects in the sphere of agriculture, environmental protection, development of infrastructure, and annually carries out the program of small grants for nongovernmental and public organizations of Kazakhstan," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative noted.
