Defense Minister handed over state awards to families of perished pilots

Karaganda. May 8. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Daniyal Akhmetov handed over the awards Aybyn of the I degree to the families of the perished pilots Andrey Leontev and Denis Fedotov today in Karaganda, the agency reports.

The decree of the President on rewarding military pilots posthumously was signed yesterday, May 7.

The family of the military men besides the state awards received new apartments.

As it was informed earlier, the fighter MIG-31 that belonged to the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan had an accident on February 16 near the Karaganda airport during training flight. The crew of the plane consisted of a 28-year-old assistant of the commander of the aviation squadron Denis Fedotov and a 32-year-old navigator Andrey Leontev died. According to the investigation commission, the plane crashed due to malfunction of the pilotage-navigating equipment.
