Experts to discuss realization of international-legal obligations of Kazakhstan - MFA

The sixth session of the Interdepartmental Commission for International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Conventions will take place in Astana on May 30. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev informed at the briefing on Monday, the agency reports.

Kazakhstan Today - The sixth session of the Interdepartmental Commission for International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Conventions will take place in Astana on May 30. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev informed at the briefing on Monday, the agency reports.

"The sixth session of Interdepartmental Commission for International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Conventions will take place on May 30 in Astana in order to review and improve the process of realization of international-legal obligations of Kazakhstan in the field of humanitarian law and human rights under the presidency of Vice Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Nurlan Danenov," Y. Ashikbayev said.

"During the session the participants will discuss the questions connected with review of the results of realization of decisions accepted at the fifth Interdepartmental Commission session and consider the course of preparation for defense of the second periodic report of Kazakhstan on realization of Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel and Inhuman Degrading Treatment or Punishment in November, 2008 in Geneva," Kazakhstan MFA representative informed.
