Government approved draft law "On public services"

The bill proposes to decentralize the Government's powers on approval of the public service standards by means of transfer of this function to the state bodies. This will simplify their work on timely upgrade of public services and improve their quality.

Almaty. December 12. Kazakhstan Today - The draft Law "On public services" was approved at a session of the Government chaired by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov in Astana today.

As Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Kazakhstan Yerbolat Dossayev said, the bill provides for a new definition of the notions "public service", "service recipient", "service provider" and "public services supplier," the Prime Minister's official website reports.

"The bill proposes to decentralize the Government's powers on approval of the public service standards by means of transfer of this function to the state bodies. This will simplify their work on timely upgrade of public services and improve their quality," Y.Dossayev noted.

The bill also provides for public discussion of the draft standard of public services which is planned to be published on the internet-resource of the state agency and the e-government portal. Any service recipient can submit proposals and remarks to the state bodies.

The draft law also regulates the order of rendering public services through the Public Service Centers and in the electronic format by means of posting standards on the websites of service providers and on the web portal of electronic government, the Unified Call Center on the issues of public services, etc.
