Government to increase size of living wage

The government of Kazakhstan is ready to increase the size of living wage up to 10.515 thousand KZT in the project of the republican budget for 2008.

Astana. October 10. Kazakhstan Today - The government of Kazakhstan is ready to increase the size of living wage up to 10.515 thousand KZT in the project of the republican budget for 2008.

"We consider it possible to increase the size of living wage, on which base social payments directly depend, in the project of the budget," the Minister of Economics and Budgetary Planning Bakhyt Sultanov stated today during the session of the parliamentary fraction of Nur Otan Party.

"We plan to increase this parameter up to 10. 515 KZT, and in total the sum of 8.7 billion KZT is required," B. Sultanov explained, having added that the increase in the size of living wage will accordingly demand changes in the base pension payments."

Originally in the project of the republican budget for 2008 the living wage had been planned at the rate of 8 861 KZT.
