House explosion in Almaty oblast may indicate on a large-scale terrorist attack preparation

Almaty. July 17. Kazakhstan Today - An explosion in a house in Almaty oblast (Tausamaly village) may indicate on the preparation of a large-scale terrorist attack, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"A bomb exploded on the outskirts of Almaty, could target the head of state. These days, the President visited the tract Ushkonyr and had to return to Almaty - the only route out to the airport passes through Tausamaly (formerly Kamenka), in 50 meters from the house where the explosion occurred," Megalopolis newspaper says.

The newspaper reminds that the "official version says: the cause of the explosion and the fire was an improvised explosive device explosion. A the place the police found bodies, arms, police uniforms, religious literature, and even the components of explosive devices, including a huge number of bearings, metal balls which enhance striking effect of bombs. Whom the explosive device was aimed at?," the author of the article asks.

"In the morning after the explosion we were forbidden to leave our homes. The police even requested not open the doors because the president's motorcade passed. They say, that the Prime Minister was there also," one of the locals told "Megalopolis".

"Arsenal found in the ruins of houses was impressive: variety of weapons, different kinds of police uniforms and religious literature. Obviously the blown-out house in Tausamaly is another page in the history of religious extremism in Kazakhstan ... For several days the police cordon is around the block holding in the village Tausamaly, where the night of July 11, the house burst into flames. Today it is officially known, that in place of the fire there were found the bodies of eight people, weapons and religious literature. And the basic version of the fire is the explosion of an improvised explosive device. However, police reports hush up silent about many of the details," the publication says.

The author believes that "there could be more victims of the explosion in the house in Tausamaly". Immediately after the first explosion, just a moment before fire broke out, several women and children ran from the building. The house fire almost immediately attracted the attention of neighbors who ran to the house just a few minutes after the fire. One eyewitness described how people ran out of the flaming house, but the police did not report about them".

According to him, "the first explosion in the house blew out all the windows and a woman almost immediately jumped out. And three children ran out after her. She crossed the neighbors' gardens and asked them to take her away urgently or give the money ... Almost immediately after that four girls ran out and ran up the street. None of them were no longer here... When the building burned in full, I saw the owner of the house - he rented it out, he lived close to here. I looked at him and thought if my house was burning I would run around trying to save something, but he did not even budge"...

"First there was an explosion and shock, as an earthquake, and then I saw flames of fire. Then, inside the burning house there were three more explosions. And then something like machine gun fire. I asked a man standing nearby:" It's like someone is shooting? " He said: "No, it's the slate in the fire crackles!" and then he grabbed my arm and dragged me away from the house: "Come out here! This is a cartridge explosion"... Almost immediately, people from the gas control came and shut off the gas. And firemen were waited for 40 minutes - but then three cars rushed", another witness said, the newspaper writes.

According to a local resident, "in the morning after the explosion we were forbidden to leave our homes. The police even requested not open the doors because the president's motorcade passed. That was roaring day: the night after an explosion cut off the power was turned off, in the morning water was turned off, then everybody was locked up at homes, and now the area is cordoned off, we are constantly being interrogated".

"The police is now working out the situation in the style of "playing catch-up": the terrorists are not preempted, even if erroneously, they are trying to do something when it is too late. They violate the police and media law, articles 20 and 25: "A journalist has the right to gather information ... present in the disaster areas ... access to documents and materials. Impeding the lawful activities of a journalist entails responsibility," author notes.

According to the newspaper, "the house was a one-storey building with a loft, where there are three rooms and three rooms downstairs and a kitchen. During the inspection of the scene it was found out that the house №98 is located on the west side of the Seifullin street of the Tausamaly village. The house is fenced by splitter blocks. Entrance to the courtyard is through a metal gate with a gray wicket. In addition, on the south side of the entrance there is a garage entrance through the metal gates of the same color".

According to the neighbors of the burned house, "tenants behaved meek and mild. We really did not see them much. We know the owner, but do not know these people".

As it became known to the newspaper, "the house was rented by Kamalov A.G. for 180 000 tenge per month. He introduced himself to the owner as a businessman, without explaining what kind of business he deals. He lived there with his family: his wife and two children, allegedly. The real owner of the building listed in the database in Public Service Center (PSC) is an unspecified K. The same man, according to PSC, lives in Almaty, and in Talgar. Alas, these official figures proved to be very inaccurate. Rent of a house in Tausamaly can possibly cost 100 000 tenge and 40 000 tenge depending on house features. According to information from competent sources, the tenants were paying much - 180,000 tenge - probably for the purpose of keeping the hosts quite," the author says.

Moreover, the newspaper reported the details on the findings in the place of the burnt house in Tausamaly. According to the newspaper there were found:
