Japan simplified procedure for issuing entry visas for Kazakhstanis

Japan has simplified the procedure for issuing entry visas and increasing the length of stay for Kazakhstani citizens. This became known during a meeting of Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida in Ashgabat.

Astana. 2 May. Kazakhstan Today - Japan has simplified the procedure for issuing entry visas and increasing the length of stay for Kazakhstani citizens. This became known during a meeting of Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida in Ashgabat.

The sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Japan in November 2016 and discussed the current state and prospective areas of bilateral cooperation, cooperation in a multilateral format, including coordination of efforts within the framework of the work of the UN Security Council.

The head of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry acquainted his Japanese counterpart with the priorities of the trade, economic, investment, transit and transport policy of Kazakhstan.

Touching upon the interaction in bilateral format, the Japanese Minister noted the relevance of the State Program of President Nursultan Nazarbayev "Nurly Zhol", having noted the attractiveness of the transport and transit potential of our country. Japan will present the latest technological developments of its country during the specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana.

During the meeting, the Japanese side announced the simplification of the procedure for issuing entry visas and increasing the duration of stay for Kazakh citizens.

The Kazakh foreign minister also met with Special Representative of the UN Secretary General - Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Petko Draganov.

During the meeting, it was noted that Kazakhstan highly appreciates the efforts of the UNRCCA to modernize the regulatory framework for transboundary water management in the Aral Sea basin and welcomes the cooperation of the Regional Center with the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. Along with this, other issues of regional cooperation and joint counteraction to transnational threats were also discussed.

In addition, Ashgabat hosted a meeting with Rashid Meredov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during which the foreign ministers of both countries considered and outlined a plan to implement the agreements reached recently during the state visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Astana.
