The people of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus will live and work in a Common Economic Space within 2 weeks, starting from January 1, 2012.

Moscow. December 20. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev pays working visit to Moscow, Kazakhstan Today reports.

The people of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus will live and work in a Common Economic Space within 2 weeks, starting from January 1, 2012, Caspionet reported.

The Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev paid a working visit to Russia to conduct the final negotiations with his EurAsEC counterparts. Nursultan Nazarbayev, Dmitry Medvedev and Alexander Lukashenko agreed on the key agreements and issues which should be coordinated at the level of heads of state, so that the common economic space can start working to its full capacity from the new year and bring mutually beneficial results for all three countries. The main outcome of the negotiations lies in the establishment of a Eurasian Economic Commission which is the first supranational body. The commission is headed by Viktor Khristenko.

The leaders of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus are aiming towards the free movement of goods, services, capital and labour across the countries. On July 1st, the countries completed the formation of a common customs territory and now Nazarbayev, Medvedev and Lukashenko are taking a new step from the Customs Union to the Common Economic Space, which involves almost 170 million consumers. A number of agreements related to the EurAsEC Court were signed in Moscow at a meeting of the EurAsEC Interstate Council, the supreme body of the Eurasian Economic Community. Not only certain countries but also entrepreneurs will be able to turn to it in case of violations of competition rules or discrimination of any kind. The heads of state also adopted a new version of the Convention on Privileges and Immunities of the Eurasian Economic Community.

"Back in the mid-nineties, the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev advanced the "Ten simple steps to common people" initiative. This initiative became the basis for establishing both the Eurasian Economic Community and the Customs Union. He foresaw at that time that this should be done. This shows his great role and merit as an initiator. And, of course, he also plays a major role in what is now being outlined in terms of more profound integration," Alexander Samodurov, Deputy Director, Department of Economic Integrations, CIS Executive Committee said.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev also held a series of bilateral meetings in Moscow. He discussed issues of further development of relations between Astana and Bishkek with the Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev. Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated Atambayev on his victory in the elections and his inauguration as the President of Kyrgyzstan. Some topical issues of deepening and expanding cooperation were discussed at a meeting with the Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev. Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated Medvedev on the completion of negotiations on Russia's accession to the WTO and the successful elections to the State Duma.
