Kazakhstan Government to struggle against inflation – Vice Premier

Astana. May 31. Kazakhstan Today - The main government short-term objective is struggle against inflation. Vice Prime Minister, the Minister of Economics and Budgetary Planning Karim Masimov informed today at the Eurasian forum of Development Institutes, the agency reports.

"Inflationary processes in the economy of Kazakhstan have sharply intensified within the first four months in 2006," K. Masimov reminded. Observable prices increase is caused by high rate of growth of cumulative demand in the Republic economy. "In conditions of high liquidity, subjects of economy have increased their consumption," K. Masimov explained.

"This problem is to be solved now, in its beginning, otherwise it will become much more complex," he emphasized. The government of Kazakhstan and the National bank have already prepared a number of measures directed at struggle against monetary and not monetary facts of inflation.
