Kazakhstan MFA made statement on occasion of Kosovo declaration of independence

Kazakhstan does not welcome infringement of territorial integrity of the state and unilateral declaration of independence. It was declared today at the briefing by the official representative of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashykbayev, stating the position of the Republic on the situation in Kosovo.

Astana. February 18. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan does not welcome infringement of territorial integrity of the state and unilateral declaration of independence. It was declared today at the briefing by the official representative of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashykbayev, stating the position of the Republic on the situation in Kosovo.

"Kazakhstan does not welcome infringement of territorial integrity of the state and unilateral declaration of independence, which can be regarded as precedent by all not recognized territorial formations," Y. Ashykbayev stated.

"At the same time, Helsinki final act admits changes of borders of the state according to the international right in a peaceful way and by agreement of the parties. In this connection, Kazakhstan welcomes the initiatives and the coordinated efforts of the world community, including under the aegis of the United Nations, OSCE and EU directed at achievement of mutually acceptable conditions of settlement of the Kosovo conflict," he emphasized.
