Kazakhstan ratified Biological and Toxin Weapon Convention

Astana. May 8. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the law On ratification of Convention on prohibition of development, manufacture and stockpiling and destruction of biological and toxin weapons," the president's press service informed.

The purpose of the convention is achievement of effective progress towards full disarmament including prohibition and liquidation of all kinds of weapons of mass destruction, prohibition of development, manufacture, stockpiling and destruction of chemical and biological weapons.

Participants of the convention include 150 states.

The convention was signed in Moscow, London and Washington in April, 1972.
