Kazakhstan Senate Speaker met Chinese scientists-historians

The chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev met in Urumchi the scientists engaged in collection of archival materials about history of Kazakh people and the Secretary of the Communist Party committee of Xinjiang-Uigur autonomous region on Monday during the official visit of the Kazakhstan parliamentary delegation to the Chinese National Republic, the agency reports.

Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev met in Urumchi the scientists engaged in collection of archival materials about history of Kazakh people and the Secretary of the Communist Party committee of Xinjiang-Uigur autonomous region on Monday during the official visit of the Kazakhstan parliamentary delegation to the Chinese National Republic, the agency reports.

"During the meeting the parties exchanged opinions on a broad range of questions of interaction between Kazakhstan and Xinjiang-Uigur autonomous region. Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, having noted successful development of the Kazakhstan-Chinese dialogue in various spheres of cooperation, emphasized the importance of further strengthening of cultural and humanitarian exchange," the press release states.

K. Tokayev highly estimated the work of the Chinese scientists about history of Kazakh people. "Your researche presents big interest for Kazakhstan citizens," Senate chairman emphasized.

According to the press service, the Chinese scientists confirmed interest in deepening cooperation with Kazakhstan in studying cultural heritage. In their opinion, studying cultural heritage of Kazakhs and carrying out of joint research is the effective tool in pursuit of establishment of close relations of cultures of the people of two neighboring states.
