Kazakhstan to stimulate state and private business in Afghanistan

Kazakhstan intends to stimulate state and private business in Afghanistan. The Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, informed today at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Rose-Roth seminar, the agency reports.

Astana. June 26. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan intends to stimulate the state and private business in Afghanistan. The Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, informed today at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Rose-Roth seminar, the agency reports.

"Kazakhstan supports involvement of Afghanistan in integration processes in the region and strengthening of mutual economic and humanitarian cooperation. Kazakhstan-Afghani Intergovernmental Commission plays special role in this sense. We also intend to stimulate the work of the state and private business in Afghanistan", K. Tokaev.

"The situation in Afghanistan is a special issue... Kazakhstan is interested in sustainable development of Afghanistan. We consider that peace and security in the Central-Asian region depend on normalization of the situation in this country. Economic integration of the Central Asian states will promote creation of favorable conditions for restoration of Afghanistan," he said.

The Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament also emphasized that "Kazakhstan has contributed to the work of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan."
