Majilis approved bill on ratification of amendments to Agreement between SCO states on Regional Antiterrorist Structure

The deputies of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan today at the plenary session approved the bill of Kazakhstan on ratification of the protocol on amendments to the Agreement between the SCO member states on the Regional Antiterrorist Structure signed on June 7, 2002 in St. Petersburg, the agency reports.

Kazakhstan Today - The deputies of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan today at the plenary session approved the bill of Kazakhstan on ratification of the protocol on amendments to the Agreement between the SCO member states on the Regional Antiterrorist Structure signed on June 7, 2002 in St. Petersburg, the agency reports.

As it was informed earlier, the SCO member states, according to the decision of the leaders of the states of the organization of May 29, 2003 concluded on August 16, 2007 in Bishkek, the protocol on amendments to the Agreement between the SCO member states on the Regional Antiterrorist Structure signed on June 7, 2002 in St. Petersburg.

The protocol specifies the order of appointment of Director of Regional Antiterrorist Structure and his assistants: according to the document, Director is appointed by the Council of the leaders of the SCO member states and vice directors are appointed to the post and are dismissed by the Council of the leaders of the states by the proposal of the parties of the agreement. According to the document, the official and the working languages of the Regional Antiterrorist Structure are the Russian and the Chinese languages.
