Majilismen to take part in First HIV Global session

The chairman of the Committee for welfare development of Majilis Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev will visit Manila (Philippines), where the deputy will take part in the work of the First HIV Global session within the limits of the Inter Parliamentary Union on November 28 - 30, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Chamber.

Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the Committee for welfare development of Majilis Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev will visit Manila (Philippines), where the deputy will take part in the work of the First HIV Global session within the limits of the Inter Parliamentary Union on November 28 - 30, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Chamber.

"The Kazakhstan doctors express concern about growth of number of HIV patients. There are 8388 HIV infected people in the Republic, 55.8 % are of 15-29 years old, the press service informs.

According to the official statistics of the United Nations, quantity of HIV infected people has decreased by 7 million this year - not 40 million, but 33 million people. Revision of data towards reduction occurred after receiving new information mainly from India and Nigeria, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The greatest quantity of HIV infected continues to be registered in Equatorial Africa - 22.5 million, Asia is on the second place. The experts note since 2000 the situation in Vietnam has sharply worsened.
