Astana. June 25. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan has been appointed, the agency reports citing a source in the government.

According to the source, Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, ex-Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation, has been appointed Minister of Defense.

As informed earlier, Danial Ahmetov was dismissed from the post of Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 17, 2009 by the decree of the head of the state.

"Altynbaev Muhtara Kapashevich, the chairman of Committee of Chiefs of Staffs - First Vice Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, was an acting Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the president's press service informed.

According to the press service, "Fedorov Oleg Anatolevich has been dismissed from the post of Vice Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the decree of head of the state."
