Astana. February 9. Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Grigory Marchenko, informed the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, on Friday on the condition of the financial market and the banking system of Kazakhstan after carrying out of devaluation of tenge, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

"The President has noted that devaluation of tenge was the necessary measure directed at support of the economy. This measure helped to retain gold and exchange currency reserve of the country. The head of the state supported the actions of the government, the Agency for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and the Financial Organizations, the Fund Samruk-Kazyna and the National Bank of Kazakhstan on strengthening of the state control over the banking sphere of the country," the press service informs.

"The National Bank managed to stabilize the situation in the market of cash currency. On Thursday, all the currency exchange offices of large banks had the maximum rate of 151 tenge for a dollar. The country has more than enough of cash currency. The rate of the national currency at the currency stock exchange has become stronger without intervention of the National Bank. The situation both in the exchange and cash currency markets stabilized very quickly," G. Marchenko said at the briefing.
