Astana. January 28. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, departed to Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum, the agency reports citing the press service of the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"Kazakhstan President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, departed to Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum (Davos)," the press service reported.

"This year the focus of the World Economic Forum in Davos will be on governments rather than banks and hedge funds."

According to the Wall Street Journal, this is connected with the fact that only taxpayers have money and influence in the conditions of the global financial crisis. "Perhaps this is the first Davos, where capitalism will be widely recognized as a failed model," the Professor of French Business School, Insean Ethane Capstein, said.

The World Economic Forum will begin in the evening on Tuesday and will be attended by 40 heads of states- far more than last year.

According to the Wall Street Journal, two main issues that will be discussed at the forum are: How much will the global recession worsen? and How to achieve the growth needed to overcome it? "Meanwhile, the IMF is likely to reduce its forecast of global growth below 1% because growth in China has been below expectations.

The USA Administration sends to the forum only one representative - a senior adviser in the White House, Valerie Jarrett. For the first time in history, the China representative - the Prime Minister, Wen Jiabao, will come to Davos. He, as the Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, will make speech on Wednesday. The leaders of Japan, Germany, and Britain will make speeches as well.
