Nazarbayev discussed "green economy" with Environment Minister

The Minister informed the President on the outcome of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio +20 and the prospects of the "green economy" development in the country.

Astana. August 17. Kazakhstan Today - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Kapparov, Kazakhstan Today reports.

The Minister informed the President on the outcome of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio +20 and the prospects of the "green economy" development in the country, President's press service said on Friday.

"Kazakhstan has achieved great strides in including the President's initiatives -"Global Energy and Environment Strategy" and the Green Bridge Partnership Program in the final documents of the Rio +20," Kapparov said.

President of Kazakhstan gave specific instructions to the Minister for developing a strategy for switching to the "green economy".
