Nazarbayev received US Assistant Secretary of State

The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev received the Assistant Secretary for Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Richard Boucher in Akorda on Monday, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

Astana. February 12. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev received the Assistant Secretary for Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Richard Boucher in Akorda on Monday, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

According to the press service, during the meeting the parties discussed prospects of further development of relations between Kazakhstan and the USA.

"We discussed a broad range of questions, concerning events in the region, further development of cooperation between the United States and Kazakhstan, in particular, prospects of development of economic relations between our countries, expansion of exchange programs, and energy development. The relations between Kazakhstan and America are developing dynamically and both parties are ready to strengthen them," R. Boucher informed.

"During the meeting we touched upon the important event in Kazakhstan - OSCE presidency in 2010," the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs said.
