Number of audits of small and medium businesses decreased by 68 % in April, 2008

Quantity of audits of small and medium businesses has decreased by 68 % in April, 2008 in comparison with April of 2007. Assistant to General Public Prosecutor of Kazakhstan Iogan Merkel informed at the government session on Tuesday, the agency reports.

Astana. June 11. Kazakhstan Today - Quantity of audits of small and medium businesses has decreased by 68 % in April, 2008 in comparison with April of 2007. Assistant to General Public Prosecutor of Kazakhstan Iogan Merkel informed at the government session on Tuesday, the agency reports.

"In March of 2008 up to March 2007 quantity of audits has decreased by 43 %, April of 2008 up by April of 2007 - by 68 %. Moratorium on audits of small and medium businesses has grown," I. Merkel emphasized.

According to Assistant to General Public Prosecutor of Kazakhstan, the largest quantity of audits of small and medium businesses accounts for the enterprises of sanitary stations and fire service. "Their share in total number of audits of small and medium businesses makes about 87 %," he explained.

I. Merkel recognized that "now there is no uniform state auditing standard." "All the organizations carry out audits at their own discretion," the representative of the State Office of Public Prosecutor informed.

In this connection, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov charged the Ministry of Industry and Commerce till September, 2008 to develop state auditing standard of subjects of small and medium businesses so that "since next year when the moratorium will be completed, audits are carried out according to the standard."
