Prime Minister charged to raise level of negotiations on creation of Customs Union

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, assigned to raise the level of negotiations on creation of the unified Customs Union during the government session today, the agency reports.

Astana. March 31. Kazakhstan Today - The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, assigned to raise the level of negotiations on creation of the unified Customs Union during the government session today, the agency reports.

"The head of the state set an objective to accelerate the negotiation process on creation of the unified Customs Union. We have made a decision to increase the level of negotiations," K. Masimov informed.

"I charge you, Umirzak Shukeev, to head the negotiation group," he said, addressing First Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Umirzak Shukeev.

During the negotiations of Karim Masimov with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the officials discussed the issues impeding the preparatory work on creation of the Customs Union. "One of the issues impeding the work of creation of the Customs Union is drug trafficking. In the opinion of the Russian Federation, drug trafficking from Afghanistan passes through Kazakhstan," K. Masimov noted.
