Tolerance and safety are priorities of Kazakhstan claim for presidency in OSCE

Astana. October 31. Kazakhstan Today - Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kasymzhomart Tokayev making the report on October 27 in OSCE headquarters in Vienna at the Permanent Council of the organization named priorities of Kazakhstan claim for OSCE presidency in 2009, Kazakh MFA official representative Yerzhan Ashikbayev informed.

"Speaking of priorities of Kazakhstan intention to preside in OSCE, the head of Kazakhstan foreign policy department noted that tolerance and non-discrimination will be one of the basic priorities of potential presidency of Kazakhstan," Y. Ashikbayev said at the briefing.

The Minister emphasized that Kazakhstan intention testifies that Kazakhstan plans to bring contribution to strengthening potential and efficiency of OSCE work," Y. Ashikbayev informed.

The diplomat noted that during the official trip to Vienna Kazakh Foreign Minister acquainted the Ambassadors of OSCE member states with the intention of Kazakhstan to preside in OSCE in 2009. "The Minister emphasized firm adherence to the main principles of OSCE and informed of the program of political reforms carried out in the country. The policy of further democratization and development of civil society remains constant," MFA representative emphasized.
