Ambassador of Japan visited Almaty zoo

According to the television channel, a leopard, Maya, was brought a year ago, but yesterday the Japanese party officially visited the zoo and met it.

"It all began in 2000 when Kazakhstan President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, as a token of friendship, presented Tokyo zoo a live symbol of the country - a snow leopard, Chingiz. Chingiz had descendants, 8 snow leopards. One of them is Maya," the television channel informed.
