American nurse condemned for 30 years of imprisonment for infection of patients with hepatitis C
Almaty. February 26. Kazakhstan Today - The court of the American city of Denver sentenced the nurse to 30 years of imprisonment for infection of tens of patients with hepatitis C, the agency reports citing RIA Novosti news agency.

During the proceeding, it has been proved that a 27-year-old Kristen Diane Parker used syringes to inject pain killers to herself and then she used the same syringes for the patients, which became the reason of their infection.

According to the Associated Press, K. Parker infected 30 people.

Parker have also been obliged to pay $506 thousand to the medical centre Rose in Denver and to the surgical centre Audubon in Colorado Springs. K. Parker worked in these medical institutions, committing crimes concerning patients.

As informed earlier, the mothers of leukaemia children in Kazakhstan at the press conference in Almaty said that their children had been infected with hepatitis C through blood transfusion.

The mothers of the infected children have created the initiative group to protect their children and other leukaemia children who were infected with hepatitis C. They have written the letter addressed to the President of the country, the Prime Minister and General Public Prosecutor.
