Booster rocket Soyuz with the transport ship Progress М-63 have been launched from Baikonur, the agency reports referring to a source at the cosmodrome.

Baikonur. February 6. Kazakhstan Today - Booster rocket Soyuz with the transport ship Progress М-63 have been launched from Baikonur, the agency reports referring to a source at the cosmodrome.

Launch of the booster rocket, according to the source, was executed at 19.3 Astana time from a launcher №5 of the starting complex of the platform №1 and passed in a regular mode.

According to flight cyclogram of the transport ship М-63 separated from the last step of the carrier and was launched into orbit with the set parameters. Docking of the transport ship Progress М-63 with the International Space Station is planned for the evening, February 7.

It has been the second space launch from Baikonur and the first launch of a booster rocket Soyuz-U. It is planned to launch four more cargo ships Progress to the International Space Station in 2008.

Transport ship Progress М-63 will deliver to the International Space Station about 2 tons of cargo: foodstuffs, scientific equipment, used cargoes, stock of oxygen and fuel for maintenance of orbit of the International Space Station. Progress will bring to the station equipment intended for carrying out of experiments of the Korean cosmonaut Ko San, whose flight is planned for April, 8, 2008 in the structure of the crew of the ship Soyuz TMA-12.
