Customs service of Kazakhstan modernized
Almaty. December 5. Kazakhstan Today - World Customs Organization (WCO) and the Customs Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan are working on modernization of customs service of Kazakhstan. Vice president of Customs Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan Serzhan Duysebayev said at the briefing during the 58th session of WCO Political Commission, the agency reports.
"WCO conducted diagnostic mission in regards to the condition of customs service today and prospects of its development in the future. The recommendations, which have been included to the program of modernization of customs service of Kazakhstan, have been developed," S. Duysebayev informed.
According to the WCO Secretary General Michel Dane, Kazakhstan is one of the leaders of the program Columbus created in connection with September 11 events, 2001. "After the events on September, 11 we decided to secure trade. We developed frame agreements with the information on how to secure trading communication, M. Dane explained.
The 58th session of WCO Political Commission has taken place in Kazakhstan for the first time. This fact, according to the session participants, "testifies positive estimation of the policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its customs service within the limits of WCO and the role of the country in the region."
