Education Ministry plans to increase quantity of subjects for CNT

Astana. May 18. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Education and Sciences of Kazakhstan plans to increase quantity of disciplines next year, questions that will be included in Kazakhstan common national testing (CNT). The Committee chairman on supervision and certification in education and science of Education Ministry Bolatbek Abdrasilov informed today during the meeting for preparation to CNT, the agency reports.

The list of subjects will be increased up to six, thus three subjects will be compulsory and three by the students’ choice. "It will expand the graduates’ access to many specialties in higher educational institutions," he said.

The decision to increase quantity of subjects is also influenced by the fact that the graduates preparing for CNT pay attention only to four subjects included in the test, B. Abdrasilov added.

At present CNT includes four subjects: mathematics, history of Kazakhstan, Russian or Kazakh language and profile discipline.
